Thinking About Adding Solar? Act Now!
Right now you are in a great position to get some amazing benefits from solar. Whether you’ve looked into solar in the past and it wasn’t the right time or the idea has been floating around in the back of your mind, if you are interested in putting solar panels on your home in California (or adding additional solar panels), then NOW is the time to act.
California is changing its solar policy, known as Net Metering (or NEM), which determines how utility companies compensate solar homeowners for the power they share with the electric grid. This change in policy will mean a 75% reduction in the credits customers get for power shared back with the grid! While the benefits of solar aren’t going away, they will be quite different in a few months for California energy customers.
But the good news is, you can be grandfathered into the existing policy and LOCK-IN today’s favorable rates for solar payback. This means that the absolute best time to sign up for solar in California is before April when this new policy goes into effect. I recommend getting started right away to avoid the rush in April and ensure your project gets approved!
